REACH camps are designed to give students in grades 9-12 hands-on experience in a variety of healthcare careers. The Eastern Montana AHEC office sponsored its first camp in the summer of 2009, where students enjoyed a day of career exploration at the MSU-Billings College of Technology. Since our first camp, we have hit the road, coordinating REACH camps in Miles City, Sidney, Circle, Poplar, Plentywood, Glasgow, and Malta.

Wrap Up/Evaluations |
Schedules are unique to each camp, and are intended to feature professionals and career options at the host medical center. Healthcare professionals lead each module and conduct a hands-on learning activity for groups of 6-8 students (typically). Students are selected based on an application process assessing their interest in pursuing a healthcare career and their commitment to attending the day's event. Beyond an exceptional learning experience, students enjoy meeting healthcare professionals, as well as receive a free scrub top and certificate for participating in the event. All activities are conducted free of charge to the students through sponsorship of the AHEC office and the partnering medical facility.
